Think about the negative effects of human actions
Environmentalists believe that it is impossible to replant a forest ecosystem. While it is possible to plant several tree varieties found in forests, no one is able to reintroduce microorganisms, insects, animals and mosses and lichen back into the environment. Environmentalists are also concerned about the habitats for moose, bear, caribou and birds being fragmented (split apart) by oil sands development. Many environmentalists believe that less environmentally damaging alternatives to fossil fuels ought to be provided to the public.
Clear-Cutting Causes Global Warming
Logging and mining are releasing carbons stored in the boreal forest. Carbons released in the atmosphere speed up the process of global warming, which threatens many species on the planet.
